Long before Kelsey and Jake’s Diamond A Ranch wedding, sparks flew when these lovebirds met each other at a Shane Smith concert at the Denton County Fair, and from there, the pair became inseparable. Several years later, Kelsey was traveling to Colorado with friends and family, believing Jake when he claimed he couldn’t make it because of work. So when her favorite person showed up unexpectedly, Kelsey was over the moon — especially considering they had plans to attend a Shane Smith concert there. When Jake popped the question, it brought their love story full circle to the moment they met!
When it came to plan their wedding, Kelsey and Jake envisioned a day that captured the essence of classic western romance — or “Black Tie Cowboy,” as they described! What better place to do that than at a ranch wedding venue in central Texas? They opted for a sophisticated black and white color palette with brass accents, bringing in antique furniture and decor to add even more warmth to the space.
We loved working with Kelsey and Jake and helping them coordinate the wedding day of their dreams. They knew exactly what they wanted: for their family to have the best time celebrating their love! Keep scrolling for an inside look at their big day!

The Bride & Groom | Diamond A Ranch Wedding Portraits
Kelsey and Jake’s sweet first look was like a page out of a fairytale! Kelsey looked absolutely stunning in a strapless lace dress with matching sleeves and a beautiful bouquet with soft, muted tones. Jake sported a sleek black tuxedo with a black cowboy hat and a white boutonniere. Black tie cowboy, indeed!

The Wedding Party
Following the black-and-white theme, Kelsey’s bridesmaids and Jake’s groomsmen wore all-black attire — and black cowboy hats for the gentlemen to match the groom! Fun fact: the bridesmaids acted as the flower girls and carried tasteful gold bowls, full with white petals, down the aisle.

Diamond A Ranch Wedding Ceremony
For their wedding ceremony location, Kelsey and Jake chose our Live Oak Grove — the perfect “something old” for their big day. Lush floral arrangements, gold candelabras, and an aisle covered in white rose petals made for a gorgeous and romantic celebration of love as the pair exchanged their vows.

We always love to see the traditions our couples incorporate into their wedding ceremony. Kelsey and Jake used the groom’s charcoal chimney to brand a framed cowhide — a sweet keepsake for hanging in their home!

Diamond A Ranch Wedding Reception
Once the “I do’s” were exchanged, it was time to party! Their wedding reception design was timeless and full of so much character. Crisp white linens, black-rimmed plates, and floral centerpieces graced each guest table along with framed photos of the newlyweds through the years.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was when Kelsey staged a mock bouquet toss. When she went to the dance floor with her bridesmaids, nobody expected that she was actually going to deliver a short dedication speech to thank her mother!

Late Night Dancing + The Grand Exit
When it came time to fill up the dance floor, Kelsey changed into a shimmering white mini dress with feathered bodice, blue cowboy hat, and a pair of cowboy boots. Their live band brought all the party vibes and had people dancing all night long!
