One of our favorite things about our Texas outdoor wedding venue, the Diamond A Ranch, is its connection to nature. Whether you’re getting married on the turf, in the oak grove, or on the stoneway, you are surrounded by beautiful, serene nature. This was a priority for Mackenzie and Zach, who first bonded over their shared love of the outdoors. They first met in the Texas Trophy Hunters Association during their sophomore year of college at The Texas A&M University. Eventually, they realized how rare it is to find a best friend, hunting partner, fishing partner, Aggie, and remodeling partner all in one! They knew that they wanted to spend forever together.

Getting Ready & First Touch
Mackenzie and her bridal party got ready in the Bridal Casita, our on-site bridal suite, which is always bathed in natural light. Her bridesmaids wore a soft blue, which perfectly matched the crystal clear May skies during the ceremony! Meanwhile, Zach and his groomsmen got ready in the Groom’s Quarters, enjoying the large TV and pool table. Zach gifted each of his groomsmen a hunting knife with their names embossed on the leather cover. It was these personal details that truly set their wedding day apart!
Instead of doing a first look, Mackenzie and Zach held hands and stood back-to-back to exchange private vows. This alternative to a first look has become increasingly popular. It lets couples connect before the ceremony while preserving the emotional moment as the bride walks down the aisle.

Ceremony on the Saloon Turf & Reception in the Homestead Saloon
Above everything else, Mackenzie and Zach wanted to find an outdoor wedding venue in Texas that felt connected with nature. When they saw the view from the Saloon Turf of rolling hills, lush valleys, and thick forests, they knew they had found their venue. They were married beneath an arbor decorated with white roses. Every guest was talking about the beautiful blue skies, perfect white clouds, and gentle breeze. It was the perfect wedding day for nature lovers!

After the ceremony, Mackenzie and Zach meandered around our sprawling property. They took portraits in the golden light and basked in that newlywed bliss! They then joined their guests for the reception in the Homestead Saloon. This cathedral-style indoor space has large windows, high ceilings, and enough space for all your loved ones. The wedding party truly embraced the occasion and handed out cardboard cut-outs of the bride and groom’s faces, which featured on the dance floor all night long!

The Best Outdoor Wedding Venue in Texas
When Mackenzie and Zach first started looking for their wedding venue, they knew they wanted something outdoor with a blend of classic elegance and rustic charm. When they found the Diamond A Ranch, they fell in love with the views from the Saloon Turf and the abundance of natural light in the Homestead Saloon. They were thrilled to host their rehearsal dinner in the Homestead Quarters, our 6,000 square-foot ranch-style home. In their words, “Pair these with an incredible staff that was willing to help through every step along the way, and it was a no-brainer!”
We were so happy to host Mackenzie, Zach, and their guests for an unforgettable celebration in our Texas outdoor wedding venue!
