If there’s one thing you can count on when it comes to our family-run wedding venue, it’s that we have a deep love and respect for our community. So when we had the opportunity to host Sarah and Clay’s large Texas wedding, we were honored! Sarah grew up just a stone’s throw away from Diamond A Ranch in Lipan, Texas, and is now a local school teacher. Sarah’s family has deep roots in this community, and Clay is from Mississippi. So, to show their 300 guests what it means to be from Texas, Sarah and Clay created a true hometown celebration that was welcoming, meaningful, and full of personal touches.

Getting Ready in the Bridal Casita & Groom’s Quarters
Sarah, her nine bridesmaids, and two flower girls got ready in the Bridal Casita! Our on-site getting-ready suite is perfect for large and small groups, with plenty of space to get ready, hang out, and eat the snacks we provide the morning of the wedding. Sarah’s bridesmaids wore beautiful silk gowns in sky blue, complemented by the florals designed by a family friend!
Meanwhile, Clay and his groomsmen got dressed in the Grooms’ Quarters and spent the rest of their morning chatting and playing pool. Instead of doing a first look, Sarah and Clay shared a first touch and said private vows while standing just out of sight of one another. We love this tradition, as it gives the bride and groom a chance to connect, but preserves the moment of walking down the aisle.

Texas Wedding Ceremony on The Turf and Reception in the Homestead Saloon
Sarah and Clay held their ceremony on the turf grass, surrounded by nearly 300 of their closest family and friends. Even with a light spring drizzle, they stuck with their plan for an outdoor ceremony. The soft overcast skies added a dreamy glow to the lush greenery and potted florals that lined the aisle, giving everything a fresh, vibrant spring feel. With so many people cheering them on, Sarah and Clay’s Texas wedding was overflowing with joy and love. It was an honor to have their love story start at our countryside venue!

After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour on the covered outdoor patio at our Homestead Saloon. This space is a favorite for days when Texas weather keeps us on our toes. The covered patio gave guests a cozy, scenic spot to mingle, with views of the surrounding hills and plenty of room to roam without stressing over the drizzle. The rest of the reception took place inside the Homestead Saloon. Decorated with chandeliers and string lights, the night stayed bright and warm as the sun set outside. Sarah and Clay’s guests dominated the dance floor, and we cheered right along with them as the couple made their exit in a classic car that matched their color theme perfectly.
